I would recommend checking out some reviews on these two shoes to see what other consumers might have to say about the actual performance of these designs. As far as technical aspects, I left this answer earlier about the differences between the two styles:
The main shoe construction between the men's adidas adiZero Rose 2.5 shoe and the men's adidas adiZero Rose 2 shoe is generally the same; however, there are a few differences that set the shoes apart. For one, the 2.5 design weighs less than the 2.0 design and seems to have evolved a bit in the actual shoe technology used for support, and also has an area in the shoe for the miCoach Pacer unit. If you want exceptional ankle lockdown, then the 2.0 series might be better for you since there is an ankle strap included in the design. Both have the SPRINTWEB welded frame constriction that provides decent breathability. Of course the colorways are different in each series, and this just might end up being the deciding factor for you when making your choice.
