Questions & Answers for Nike Overplay VII - Men's

Question

Why are there not many wide basketball shoes?

There are so many big guys that play basketball that I would imagine have wide feet, and I feel there would be a pretty large market for wide basketball shoes. Am I wrong? Is it just because the 'majority' don't have wide feet? I think that all shoes should have a wide fit because most of the wide shoes have pretty lame styles, like these shoes. I would love if the AJ 8.0 had a wide fit for example, but they just don't.

It seems with the design of most basketball shoes, the manufacturers haven't felt a need to make any of the sizes into wide selections because most consumers will just order a bit larger if they need more room in the shoes. For most, 1/2 size larger usually works. When individuals are into the really large sizing, a full size difference may be needed since half sizes are not made in the bigger shoes.
