Seems most college styled shorts or even NBA type shorts would do the trick for you since you are about average height for a basketball player. Most basketball shorts, such as the men's Nike College Authentic On Court Shorts, will have a 12" or 13" inseam length which should rest near your kneecaps at your height. For correct fit, you should still use the size guide provided online because that is direct from the manufacturer and they will use your waist dimension to determine proper sizing.

Do these shorts come in a shorter inseam length ?
I believe the 12" inseam length might be to long for me , please respond im really interested in buying them
